Recent Immigration from the Republic of Moldova and Arab Countries to Romania. A Stakeholders’ Perspective on Local Integration

Romania, a net emigration country, has witnessed significant increase in immigration over the last decade. The objective of this paper is to highlight facilitators and barriers local integration faced by recent immigrants as expressed relevant stakeholders. Their often neglected views hold particular relevance for improving well-being migrants Romania. We focus on young from Republic Moldova Arab countries, relying data 13 interviews conducted 2021 with various results reveal different mechanisms two groups. Some are similar, being mainly related document validation lack family support. Other factors act differently groups migrants. For Moldovan youth, language cultural familiarity facilitate their access labour market education, whereas asylum seekers countries need longer achieving integration.
